Description anistagea_dean 2023-08-26 02:32:07 UTC
SUMMARY
Any attempt at opening animation files results in the application closing after a few seconds

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Would open the krita application
2. Click on an existing animation that was worked on before in recents

OBSERVED RESULT
The main screen would dim, as if it was getting ready to open the file and after a few seconds would simply close afterwards

EXPECTED RESULT
It should have opened and let me continue working on the file, however it would close and not even a dialouge box would appear.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: Microsoft Windows 11 Home

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I attempted to open the animation through the direct file location as well but the same thing happened. I can open other non animation files just fine, even multiple at a time and the application did not close. I had the same issue with the first beta and have now re-downloaded 5.1.5 and the animation file opened just fine.

Hi, Anista!

Thank you very much for your report! I think the bug should now be fixed in this nightly build of the stable branch:

https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/Krita_Stable_Windows_Build/

Could you please check if the bug doesn't happen in this build?

(the bug was related to the audio file attached to the .kra document; it was possible to workaround it by creating any empty document first and adding audio to it, after which Krita would open .kra's with audio properly...)
