Description Douglas Goodall 2023-08-23 13:14:34 UTC
Created attachment 161138 [details]
a picture of the dialogue box provided by k3b describing missing transcode prerequisite.

SUMMARY

"apt install libdvd-pkg" brings up dialogue that describes update process
involving running: "sudo dpkg-reconfigure libdvd-pkg"
This solves the first prerequisite issue.

The second prerequisite issue is the transcoder which I could not solve. All they specify is "transcode"
which is hardly enough to go on.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 Michael Zapf 2024-12-01 23:01:02 UTC
Confirmed on my system. K3b informs on selection of "Rip video DVD" that it requires transcode, but it is actually installed on my system (as /usr/bin/transcode), but in the Programs section of the K3b settings, there is no transcode entry.

It seems to me as if K3b was once updated to drop the transcode requirement, but the check still exists and fails for unknown reasons.
