Created attachment 161101 [details] The first window in the app SUMMARY *** When i first launch the KTouch app, there is a welcome window that asks for the name and whether you have previous experience in machine typing. In the input box that asks for the name, i cannot enter the name and thus cannot access the app. The pointer does not want to appear in the name input box when i click inside it. I am stuck at the starting window. I attached a screenshot of the place where the problem occurs. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install KTouch the Flatpak version 2. Launch the application 3. The problem is in the small starting welcome window OBSERVED RESULT EXPECTED RESULT SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Fedora Linux 38 KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.6 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.108.0 Qt Version: 5.15.10 Kernel Version: 6.4.11-200.fc38.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i5-7200U CPU @ 2.50GHz Memory: 23.1 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® HD Graphics 620 Manufacturer: Dell Inc. I see the same behaviour with KTouch 23.08.1 on OpenSUSE. This is in the Wayland session. KTouch is unusable because I can't enter the name. Here's the package information: Information for package ktouch: ------------------------------- Repository : repo:oss Name : ktouch Version : 23.08.1-1.2 Arch : x86_64 Vendor : openSUSE Installed Size : 4.3 MiB Installed : Yes Status : up-to-date Source package : ktouch-23.08.1-1.2.src Upstream URL : https://apps.kde.org/ktouch Summary : Touch Typing Tutor Description : A KDE program that helps you to learn and practice touch typing. Added note: this seems to be a Wayland-related issue. When I launch KTouch from the command line with QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb ktouch, it works.
Does this still happen in the latest version in Git?
I am using Manjaro right now and the problem is not happening, i can access Ktouch just fine. Operating System: Manjaro Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.8 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.110.0 Qt Version: 5.15.11 Kernel Version: 6.5.7-1-MANJARO (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 32 × 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i9-13980HX Memory: 23.1 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® Graphics
Seems fixed in the Git version, I can enter the name in both the Wayland and X11 UIs.
The name can be pasted from the mouse buffer (middle click).
(In reply to Eugene Shalygin from comment #7) > The name can be pasted from the mouse buffer (middle click). But then it is the same problem with lesson window: the app does not register any key press, so it is completely unusable.
