SUMMARY Hopefully this is the right product - I am not sure. I would like to propose a feature that allows toggling notification sounds on or off in a particular application's notification settings. We already have per-app controls for showing popups, showing notifications in history, showing notification badges and configuring per-event settings. If the app supports configuring notifications on a per-event basis, this is already possible by configuring the event not to play a sound. Otherwise, this is not possible. My personal annoyance with this feature not being present is that I have to entirely disable notifications from Spotify's (poor) client, as I have no way to disable the notification chime when a notification that a new song is playing appears. I am sure many other circumstances where such a feature would be useful exist. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Procure an application that does not have support for configuring notifications on a per-event basis (e.g. Firefox, Spotify) 2. Try to disable notification sounds for that particular app OBSERVED RESULT No setting to disable notification sounds exists. EXPECTED RESULT A setting exists. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 38 @ 6.4.10-200.fc38.x86_64 (64-bit) (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.6 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.108.0 Qt Version: 5.15.8 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Seems reasonable to me.
