SUMMARY *** I recently updated to the latest version of Kdenlive after I had some corrupted project files that I wasn't able to open in a previous version. When I attempt to play a video in the "Project Monitor" space the Play/Pause button reacts, but nothing happens to the video. The button itself is responsive (meaning it changes from "play" and "pause" when clicked, but nothing happens. Eventually the program will go "not responding" and crash, or if you wait long enough (2 - 3 minutes) the video will sometimes start to play. It almost seems like it is a sever playback delay. I have never had this issue with previous versions of Kdenlive and I am reluctant to move back to an older version due to the corrupted project file issues I was having. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open project, hit play/pause. Same thing happens consistently as described above. 2. 3. OBSERVED RESULT Delayed playback or no playback. Program crashes. EXPECTED RESULT Timely playback without a program crash. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: Windows 11 Version 10.0.22621 Build 22621 macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Please try with the actual 23.08.1 AppImage from the download page to see if you can reproduce the crash.
