Windows 10 was running on VirtualBox. On Windows 10, C++ Builder was running. A usb hard drive was connected to both operating systems. That is, everything is as it should be. After launching the Chrome web browser on the host OS, the running slowed down dramatically and I reached Alt+Sysrq+S. The reporter is unsure if this crash is reproducible. -- Backtrace: Application: KWin (kwin_x11), signal: Segmentation fault [KCrash Handler] #4 0x00007f30aa8b138f in QCoreApplicationPrivate::sendThroughApplicationEventFilters(QObject*, QEvent*) () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Core.so.5 #5 0x00007f30a9f62fe8 in QApplicationPrivate::notify_helper(QObject*, QEvent*) () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Widgets.so.5 #6 0x00007f30aa8b16f8 in QCoreApplication::notifyInternal2(QObject*, QEvent*) () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Core.so.5 #7 0x00007f30aa908c31 in QTimerInfoList::activateTimers() () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Core.so.5 #8 0x00007f30aa9094c4 in () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Core.so.5 #9 0x00007f30a86627a9 in g_main_context_dispatch () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libglib-2.0.so.0 #10 0x00007f30a8662a38 in () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libglib-2.0.so.0 #11 0x00007f30a8662acc in g_main_context_iteration () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libglib-2.0.so.0 #12 0x00007f30aa909836 in QEventDispatcherGlib::processEvents(QFlags<QEventLoop::ProcessEventsFlag>) () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Core.so.5 #13 0x00007f30aa8b017b in QEventLoop::exec(QFlags<QEventLoop::ProcessEventsFlag>) () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Core.so.5 #14 0x00007f30aa8b82d6 in QCoreApplication::exec() () at /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Core.so.5 #15 0x000056323acd02d1 in () #16 0x00007f30a98461ca in __libc_start_call_main (main=main@entry=0x56323accfef0, argc=argc@entry=1, argv=argv@entry=0x7ffd8926d968) at ../sysdeps/nptl/libc_start_call_main.h:58 #17 0x00007f30a9846285 in __libc_start_main_impl (main=0x56323accfef0, argc=1, argv=0x7ffd8926d968, init=<optimized out>, fini=<optimized out>, rtld_fini=<optimized out>, stack_end=0x7ffd8926d958) at ../csu/libc-start.c:360 #18 0x000056323acd17b1 in () [Inferior 1 (process 61750) detached] Reported using DrKonqi
What was the reason for the slowdown? It is possible you ran out of memory? or there was excessively high CPU usage? Were you able to do any debugging? If not, then I suspect there's unfortunately nothing we can do after the fact.
