Description christian 2023-08-11 08:17:50 UTC
Using the new sequences feature of kdenlive 23.04 for the first time on a project with 390 clips and a master timeline linking 12 sequences together. Playing the master leads to many missing transform and a greyscale effects, while they were still present and working in the source sequences. Trying to rebuild the master didn't help. At the end nearly all transform effects were broken in the master. So as a workaround I copied all the clips from all of the sequences to a new sequence and get it rendered without problems. I tried to reproduce the bug on a small amount of clips but didn't "succeed". Nevertheless: I would be happy if this great feature would be usable in the near future. Thanks a lot!
BTW: Switching the sequence tabs sometimes causes kdenlive to crash.

The nested sequence feature was introduced in the Kdenlive 23.04.x version, but unfortunately lots of bugs / regressions happened in this version. Please test the latest 23.08.4 release that fixes all known issues in nested sequences.

Not the original filer, but saw the same problems. I can report that for my small-ish project (~30 clips), 23.08.04 fixed the missing transform effect issues I was having previously.

I still did see the crash on switching sequence tabs, but the autosave seemed to save me there.

Appreciate the work on kdenlive (newish user here), and I really like the sequence feature.

Thanks for Your help. I did a test with 4k material using 23.08.04 with lots of clips and nested sequences: transform bugs seems to be fixed indeed but audio effects "fade in" and "fade out" (may be others too?) are still not working.
