SUMMARY If you open an application into, for example, a second desktop when you are on the first desktop, an icon for that application will show on the first desktop, with a yellow "new window coloring", until you switch to the other desktop, focus that window, and switch back, despite having "show taskbar icons only for current desktop" enabled. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Enable only the following: `Right click on taskbar>Configure Icons-only Task Manager Settings>Behaviour>Show only tasks>From current desktop` 2. For that application, configure the following in "Configure Special Application Settings": - Virtual Desktops, Apply Initially, <some second desktop> - Focus Stealing Prevention, Force, Extreme 3. reboot, and login OBSERVED RESULT When you first login, the autostarted applications that get launched onto the second desktop will show their icons on the taskabar, with a yellow/orange highlight, on the first desktop despite the setting that says otherwise. The icons only go away when you then switch to the second desktop and focus the newly launched applications, and then switch back. EXPECTED RESULT I expect that the "Show only taskbar icons from current desktop" setting does exactly as it describes: that it only shows icons from the current desktop, no matter the state that the application may be in. This was fixed in Plasma 6.2.0.
(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > This was fixed in Plasma 6.2.0. I still have the issue, and I am on Plasma 6.2.5.
So this issue should not be marked as resolved/fixed.
Ah, I missed the fact that it only happens for auto-started apps. Can reproduce now.
