SUMMARY Demonstrative video: https://youtu.be/Uu7uRkYlGpA Editing the Location text field will make Dolphin attempt to connect to the address after every keypress. This can be annoying when the location fingerprint has not yet been approved STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create a Places Entry for a remote sftp connection 2. Edit the Location text field 3. Set the location to something that doesn't appear in the known hosts file OBSERVED RESULT Dolphin will try to verify the fingerprint after every keypress EXPECTED RESULT The connection verification should happen when you try to actually connect to that address or at the very least when you press the OK button. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.7 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.108.0 Qt Version: 5.15.10 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This still happens but it needs a filepath after the domain name to trigger.

Sure. Just to be certain, I made sure that the bug still exists in the current system. dolphin 25.11.90 Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.20.0 Qt Version: 6.10.1 Kernel Version: 6.18.0-arch1-1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i7-7600U CPU @ 2.80GHz Memory: 24 GiB of RAM (23.2 GiB usable) Graphics Processor: Intel® HD Graphics 620 Manufacturer: LENOVO Product Name: 20HG0003SG System Version: ThinkPad T470s
Thanks for re-testing. I confirm this behavior on Dolphin built from git-master. It seems that the connection attempt / authenticity check shouldn't happen until clicking OK when done editing.
