Description kramski 2023-08-05 19:21:32 UTC
SUMMARY
***
I usually have five activities defined which I did not change for a long time.

Lately, my activities reset spontaneously and are missing in Activity Switcher on Plasma login. I have to restore ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc from my daily backup to get them back.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Logout normally
2. Login normally

OBSERVED RESULT
Sometimes (sorry, no real test case) activities are missing and ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc is much smaller than it should.

EXPECTED RESULT
Activities should be untouched.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux 6.4.7-arch1-3
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.7-1
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.108.0
Qt Version: 5.15.10

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Already suffered from this issue two years ago on Plasma 5.23, but it went away somehow. Now it's back.

Thanks for the bug report, and I'm sorry we weren't able to look into it yet. A lot has changed since this was reported; can you still reproduce the issue in Plasma 6.3.5 or later? Or even better, in the Plasma 6.4 beta or the 6.4 final release in a few weeks?

Thanks again!

I'm currently on 6.3.5 and can't switch to beta easily.

But I can confirm that I'm unable to reproduce the issue on 6.3.5 (and quite some predecessor versions).

Thanks for providing KDE Plasma!
