SUMMARY My suggestion is that you are able to display seconds just in the pop-up tray alone and not in the task bar as well. CURRENT BEHAVIOUR Right now you can display the seconds in the task bar. Having the seconds tick in the task bar is quite distracting for regular work for me. SUGGESTED BEHAVIOUR You can display the seconds but you can limit them to be only shown in the task bar. I added a screenshot from Windows where it works the way I thought this could look. I don't have distracting seconds in the task bar, but once I open up the pop-up you can see them. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION My usecase is simple and quite straight forward: Be more precice than whole minutes when making tea.
Created attachment 160690 [details] Windows calendar and clock Clock and Calender pop-up under Windows 10. The task bar does not have seconds while they are visible in the pop-up.
Created attachment 160696 [details] KDE digital clock suggestion A 'design study' on how the clock could look like with activated _seconds only in pop-up_ I don't like the place of the month all that much, but it's just a 5 minute draft, so there clearly is room for UI improvement.
This has been implemented already for Plasma 6!
(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #3) > This has been implemented already for Plasma 6! After the update to Plasma 6.0 I checked every setting and was not able to find it. To be clear: My suggestion is that the time (including seconds) is displayed on the pop-up ofthe calendar while at the same time not being displayed in the system tray
It's the "Show seconds: Only in the tooltip" setting.
Created attachment 166367 [details] KDE 6 calendar layout (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #5) > It's the "Show seconds: Only in the tooltip" setting. On my system the seconds are never displayed anywhere except in the system tray when I set the setting to 'Always'. The setting in the image is 'only in shortinfo' (or tooltip I guess)
Yes, it's only shown in the tooltip.
