SUMMARY
***
Installed DK v8.1 on a MacBook Air M2 several weeks ago and finally got a chance to check DK out after setting up the new machine. I had copied my Picture albums from a Kubuntu 22.04 laptop prior to installing DK onto the M2. Yesterday I opened a photo album and when I clicked on a thumbnail I got the message "The storage location of this image is currently not available". I checked the data path setup in DK and it matches the path found when opening the same album using OSx Finder. Opening a picture(s) in the album folder using an OSx application posed no issues.

The partition UUID is a part to identify the collection, if it changes due to disk replacement or other, it needs to be updated. Use the update function in the collection settings (circle icon next to the trash). In the best case, just confirm everything once and the UUID will be updated in the DB.

Maik,
I rechecked my Collections settings in DK. I added /user/bert/Pictures
to the DK Collections.

Now I have a listing of Albums and a listing of Pictures. The Pictures
folders are accessible from the thumbnail view and I no longer get the
error message that I reported on.

My next question is do I delete the Albums from my original list and if
I do, will that also delete the folders in my local Pictures collection?

I'm a NOOB using the Mac environment, still prefer Kubuntu.

Thanks,
Bert

Maik,
I finally got the correct paths setup for Collections, had to remove a
duplicate entry.
Thanks for your help,
Bert
