SUMMARY

Adding or deleting files from the Desktop directory does not refresh the Folder View (you know, the desktop itself). F5 or Ctrl-R don't update it either.

Only by going into Desktop Folder settings, switching to Desktop and back to Folder View refreshes the icon. A restart might work as well.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create or delete a new file in ~/Desktop. Notice it does not appear.
2. Right click, configure Desktop and Wallpaper
3. Change the Layout option to Desktop, apply, and back to Folder View, apply.
4. Desktop icons are refreshed.
