SUMMARY
There is functionality to remove a Face Tag by right clicking on the photo. However it does not list the "Unknown" Face Tag so there apeears to be no way to remove it.
I have a number of photos where I now know the identity of the person and want to remove the "Unknown" tag and replace with the correct Face Tag.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Tag a Face as "Unknown"
2. Right click on Photo and select "Remove Tag".

OBSERVED RESULT
"Unknown" tag is not listed.

EXPECTED RESULT
"Unknown" Tag listed with other Face tags

You can delete all faces in the image in preview mode. In digiKam-8.1.0 it is also possible in thumbnail view for all selected.

Face regions are not removed via the tag because "Unknown" on faces is a virtual tag. Look in the preview mode context menu.
