What is the "Brightness app"? I'm not aware of any places where you need to click Save after changing brightness.

At any rate, please provide system/version information that was requested in a bug template.

My reply seems to have vanish but anyway, It's MX linux 21 with KDE desktop. I was unable to select that because it was missing from the menu.

I'm sorry, Chris. This "Brightness Systray" app doesn't look like anything supported by KDE. You should probably file a downstream bug report for MX linux 21 — which I personally first time hearing about btw.
