SUMMARY

KMail doesn't respect the "Allow messages to load external references from Internet" setting for emails when displayed in their own window. It respects the setting only in the preview pane.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Go to KMail -> Settings menu -> Configure KMail -> Security tab, -> ensure that "Allow messages to load external references from Internet" is checked
2. Back in KMail's main interface, find an email that has HTML content with pictures. Click on it. In the preview pane, external references appear as they should.
3. Now double-click on the email item to make it appear in its own window.

OBSERVED RESULT

When the email is in its own window, no external HTML pictures are loaded. Instead a red box appears with this message:

"Note: This HTML message may contain external references to images etc. For security/privacy reasons external references are not loaded. If you trust the sender of this message then you can load the external references for this message by clicking here."

EXPECTED RESULT

Externally referenced HTML pictures should be immediately visible, as they are in the preview pane.
