STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. add any  MP4 file
2. Click play button
3. Enjoy audio errors and distorsionsg

OBSERVED RESULT
audio distortions

clear sound

This is most probably a Windows system playback issue which affects Kdenlive. Please check in the Windows settings that the audio playback bitrate is set to 44100Hz. Then the audio crackling should be gone.

Does this crackling happen as well when the video is rendered out?
