STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. right-click on Plasma panel and choose "Enter edit mode"
2. move the Plasma panel to another screen edge
3. leave the edit mode
4. open Kickoff, or click on the clock or an applet

OBSERVED RESULT
grey popup. Please watch the attached screen recording.

EXPECTED RESULT
popups in the correct color

Can reproduce as described. Restarting plasmashell fixes the issue.

I'm still able to reproduce the issue with today's git master. But maybe a Qt 6.6 change fixed it for you? Will follow up after I get the Qt 6.6 upgrade.

Cannot reproduce with kickoff and Digital Clock, but can with systray applets.

Can also confirm only with the System Tray now.
