SUMMARY *** Screen is dimming itself without any user interactions, even when the laptop is plugged in to power. It acts as if power has been removed and it is running on the battery. The power removed notification sounds, though the power is still plugged in, and the screen dims by on its own. This has been observed when an external monitor is being used on the laptop's HDMI port. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Plug in power the laptop from the power adapter 2. Attach an external monitor to the HDMI port 3. Wait for it to happen. OBSERVED RESULT Laptop screen auto-dims The screen brightness can be returned to its previous setting manually Occurs randomly, sometimes in 10 min intervals, other times at longer intervals EXPECTED RESULT The screen brightness not change and maintain its setting SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.106.0 Qt Version: 5.15.9 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION X11 Kernel: 6.1.31-2-MANJARO AMD Ryzen 7 4800H AMD Radeon Graphics
When that happens, if you move your mouse over the battery icon in the panel, what does it say? - e.g. "Battery at 60%, Charging" Also, when this happens again, can you please open Konsole, enter qdbus --system org.freedesktop.UPower /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/line_power_AC org.freedesktop.UPower.Device.Online and post the result here?
