SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. plug in dispaly port monitor, IT happens all the time. works fine with hdmi, but hdmi runs off the integrated gpu on my laptop. I know the display port works because my ultra wide is hdmi only and i was originally running it off a display port to hdmi active converter, Bought a 4k monitor for gaming and this is what happened. 2. I physcially can not enable the monitor in system settings. I click enable move the position to where i want it, click apply, freezes for a second. click a new tab in system settings, come back and its not enabled, as if it never was. I don't now what to do or where to the config files are, but I just tested and it works perfectly out of the box on gnome wayland, but not on Plasma wayland, (x11 just crashes when i click apply) I would submit screenshots but that doesn't matter. Is there a log or something I can submit? OBSERVED RESULT EXPECTED RESULT SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Created attachment 159969 [details] at 2:15, I redid everything one after another the qml errors appear when I reload the display configuration tab by clicking on another tab and display configuration again
Also, I tried a fedora 38 kde spin in a live cd, and it still did it. So my install isn't bugged. I just don't understand
yes this is the wayland session, the x11 session just crashes and takes me back to the log in screen.
I'm going to request this gets closed out The monitor failed the ufo test website and i returned it and got gigabyte m28u, I now don't have problems Turns out kde was the only desktop that could detect a problem with the monitor (another reason why i love this desktop). Although, I wish it could've told me monitor fualt.
