SUMMARY Dolphin on KDE Neon, by default, doesn't show video thumbnails. The issue is resolved by installing ffmpegthumbs with "sudo apt install ffmpegthumbs" and enabling it in Dolphin. Considering that KDE's own Wiki recommends shipping it by default, it makes sense it should be part of the Neon ISO as well. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Make a fresh install of Neon 2. Access a folder with videos with Dolphin OBSERVED RESULT No thumbnails are generated EXPECTED RESULT Thumbnails should be generated without having to resort to installing additional packages SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: KDE neon 5.27 KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.6 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.107.0 Qt Version: 5.15.10 Kernel Version: 5.19.0-45-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 6 × Intel® Core™ i5-9400F CPU @ 2.90GHz Memory: 15,5 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 570 Series
