SUMMARY
***
I like the split view feature in dolphin very much and I use it very often. I also use the one-click method to open folders or start files (no double-click).
I often use the split view feature to copy files or folders.
My wish is, that the behavior of the icon in the toolbar reacts the other way. For example: If I copy a file from the left side to the right side, then the right side is remembered by the icon as to close if I click the split view icon again to close split view. In my opinion, it should be exacly the other way, that the left side (the side I copied from) is closed and not the side I copied the file into.
This would be a great help!
The problem is, that I have to activate the left side again first to close it. But as I use one-click, it is sometimes hard to not activate something in the left side, I don't want.
I hope my english and my text is understandable.
Thanks!

Don't worry about your English. Most KDE contributors aren't native English speakers either.

We have a setting for this: In the menu there is "Configure Dolphin" which opens the Dolphin settings window. There on the first page "General->Behaviour->Miscelaneous" is the setting "Disabling split view closes the active tab". If you toggle that setting, it will close the other split view pane from now on.

Simply change that setting for yourself and you will have the behaviour you want. Cheers!

Hey Felix,
thanks for that hint! Didn't see that option.
Cheers
