STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open certain news channels (doesn't work with all, on my end it worked with The KDEnlive fundraising post from Planet KDE)

OBSERVED RESULT
Watch the clip. I don't even know how to describe it.

I've been getting the same issue, with images flashing rapidly. It can be reproduced with the latest xkcd as of writing, "Dubious Islands," if the image is not flashing at first, try resizing the window, and eventually it will start doing so.

It's a very extreme effect, especially with big images that clash against the background color (such as the white xkcd comics against my dark theme.)
