STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1.  login - I can reproduce on both Wayland and X11 sessions
2. click on any applet in the system tray
3. 

OBSERVED RESULT
overlapping text on top. The bug no longer occurs in the current Plasma session after re-activating the applet.

This appears to be fixed now as of today.
