ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I've periodically seen this too. Doesn't seem 100% reproducible; kinda random. Maybe we should retry a few times if the server is being flaky.

Hmm, for me it seems to be happening 100% of the time. Regardless of the application or time of the day. It isn't a huge deal, but it's something you would expect to work typically with no issue.
Comment 3 Nate Graham 2023-06-13 21:19:44 UTC
Yeah, totally.
Comment 4 Aleksandr Melnikov 2023-08-26 05:17:07 UTC
I've decided to investigate this!

I finally got discover building and running.
Alas, I am not yet able to recreate the error.

Could you possibly specify which app you submitted a review for?

In my case, I submitted a review for VLC and that went through without error.
Comment 5 Nate Graham 2023-09-28 14:52:26 UTC
Very likely fixed by Marco Martin with https://invent.kde.org/plasma/discover/-/commit/acb816be7577f4a039a7dffd2b29a3dc627fa70c in Plasma 5.27.9. Bug please to feel free to re-open this bug report if you experience the same issue again after upgrading to 5.27.9 or later. Thanks a lot!

Hi all,

I recently tried to review an app once again, and I am still getting the same error. This happens with all applications, it isn't specific towards anything.

Screenshot of running plasma-discover from the terminal

I ran plasma-discover from the terminal and went to write a review to see if any additional errors would come up. This screenshot is of the entire session. Started discover, went to write a review, failed, exited discover.
Comment 10 Nate Graham 2024-05-06 21:00:29 UTC
Darn, I thought we had fixed this. :/ IIRC it's just that the server is flaky. Maybe we need to handle that flakiness better ourselves rather than just blindly passing on the error message to the user, since it may be 100% useless.

Lowering priority since this isn't really a major issue.
