STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Drag file in Dolphin 2. Drop onto folder view 3. In drop menu do "Add Icon" OBSERVED RESULT An applet named "Icon" with a generic icon is created EXPECTED RESULT An applet with the file name and mimetype icon is created. This works in Plasma 5 SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS KDE Plasma Version: master KDE Frameworks Version: master Qt Version: 6.5.0 It looks like the cast in https://invent.kde.org/frameworks/plasma-framework/-/blob/master/src/plasmaquick/plasmoid/containmentinterface.cpp#L209 fails so appletInterface->externalData() isn't called
I can't reproduce this on the latest builds. I dropped an image and a text file on the desktop, used Add Icon and both were created using the correct name and icon. Can you confirm it's fixed?
