SUMMARY If working with mixed scale environments, currently applications like Firefox and Discord do not scale correctly. They scale at 100% instead of the higher value, making content very small on a HiDPI display. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set up a 200% scale monitor in a mixed scale environment (at least one 100% scale monitor on either side works) 2. Log into KDE Plasma Wayland session 3. Start a non-kde application such as Firefox or Discord OBSERVED RESULT Application is scaled at 100% EXPECTED RESULT Application is scaled at 200% SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS OS: Arch Linux x86_64 Kernel: 6.3.4-zen1-1-zen KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.106.0 Qt Version: 5.15.9 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Shell: bash 5.1.16 Resolution: 3840x2160 WM: kwin Theme: Breeze Light [Plasma], Breeze [GTK2/3] Icons: [Plasma], breeze-dark [GTK2/3] Terminal: konsole CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X (24) @ 3.700GHz GPU: AMD ATI Radeon RX 5600 OEM/5600 XT / 5700/5700 XT Memory: 3514MiB / 64211MiB
If you enter the Display Configuration KCM and set the scale to 195%, hit Apply, and then click Revert, scaling starts to work.
In System Settings > Startup and Shutdown > Background Services, is the "GNOME/GTK Settings Synchronization Service" checked and running?
