Description Petr Kadlec 2023-05-19 15:00:28 UTC
SUMMARY
After clicking on the Networks icon (in system tray) and the Connect button of a VPN connection listed there, a “VPN secrets” dialog appears requesting the password for the VPN connection. However, an extra click to the dialog is required, as the window does not have focus.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Define a VPN connection requiring a password, but do not store the password, having “Ask for this password every time” selected.
2. Click the Networks icon (in system tray), and then the Connect button of the VPN connection.
3. “VPN secrets (l2tp) dialog — KDE Daemon” appears, requesting the user to provide the secrets for the VPN connection.
3. Try to type the password.

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing happens, the password characters got swallowed by the Networks list. The user needs to click the dialog to switch the focus there.

EXPECTED RESULT
The dialog should have the focus automatically, and the typed password should be received by it.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 23.04
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.104.0
Qt Version: 5.15.8

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I believe this appeared as a regression between Kubuntu 22.10 and 23.04 which is why it gets me every time.
