SUMMARY After bringing up one of the drop-down information boxes on an item in the panel (for example, the text description of the date that appears when hovering over the date box), a faint white flicker will appear on that part of the panel. This seems to flicker only when the screen is changing. At first I thought it was when the mouse was moving, but it flickers constantly when an animated gif is on screen. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Hover over date widget in panel 2. Move mouse away from date widget in panel OBSERVED RESULT There is a white flicker EXPECTED RESULT The panel looks as before SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.106.0 Qt Version: 5.15.9 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Wayland, integrated AMD graphics with mesa, kernel is 6.3.1-eupnea, from the Depthboot project.
Created attachment 159097 [details] Screenshot of the problem Apologies for poor screenshot quality, I couldn't replicate it in a screenshot so this is a screenshot of the screen recording (which I can't upload due to filesize)
How strange. Does it happen when you... - Use a non-floating panel? - Disable the "morphing popups effect in System Settings > Workspace Behavior > Desktop Effects - Use the X11 session instead of Wayland?

Yep. I've managed to replicate it on non-floating panels, without, morphing popups, and on X11. It did take a little longer to replicate with a non-floating panel but I got there in the end.
I should also add that it stops flickering if I either place the cursor back on the part of the panel where the flickering it (which is also the part of the panel where the popup was), and also stops flickering if I switch window focus.
Ok, thanks.
This is fixed in Plasma 6.2.0
