Description Ryan 2023-05-16 15:55:55 UTC
SUMMARY
***
I have moved from the confined snap to the classic snap. The keyboard shortcuts, external tools and sessions have reverted to a set-up from several months ago. I guess because the classic snap is not reading the information from the same place the confined snap was saving info to.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. ''' sudo snap refresh kate --classic'''
2. open kate via the terminal.

OBSERVED RESULT
The presented session information is from several months ago (when I refreshed to the confined snap). The external tools listed and the keyboard shortcuts appear to have reverted to that of several months ago as well.

EXPECTED RESULT
Kate initiates with the settings I was using most recently (i.e. before I refreshed to the classic snap).

I think that is unavoidable, but perhaps I am wrong.
Comment 2 Scarlett Moore 2023-11-11 09:54:10 UTC
Unfortunately, yes it is intended. --classic runs completely unconfined so it has full access to the normal user session $HOME configs and the like whereas the confined has it's own configuration and settings under $HOME/snap/{app}
