STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create new project add Project clips audio and video.
2. Create sequences.
3. Rendered current state of audio and video.
3. Save and restart.

OBSERVED RESULT
In my project the one save sequence, when selected, is played, is correct, that is to say it plays the audio file correct, but the project clips in time line are not correct. An audio file in the timeline plays the incorrect audio, and when selected from the project bin and in the clip monitor plays the correct audio as per the added external clip saved on my computer.

EXPECTED RESULT
The Project clips added should remain unchanged on the timeline.

So I can reproduce the problem now but to explain it is rather difficult... as a newbie with Kdenlive..
Is there any ways I can allow a remote connection so that the issue can be observed and I explain as we go through what is happening.

Thank you for testing and the feedback. With version 23.04.1 I think we have fixed that issue.
Please try with the current Kdenlive AppImage version 23.04.1 to see if this issue is fiexed: https://kdenlive.org/en/download/

Thanks for the update 23.04.1. Rerun one of my project backups and now the audio file issue is sorted. Much appreciated.

The screenshot of the audio file path that is clipped off at the end

The screenshot of the Audio 9 path confirms the path of the audio clip added and when played outside of Kdenlive is complete, however, if the file is played within Kdenlive v23.04.1 the audio is clipped towards the end of clip.

Prior the the New Project version 1.1 "sequences" I could have my recorded audio files added to a Kdenlive project, if I encountered an error or needed to modify the audio file, then I would close save and close Kdenlive. Record the changes and save the audio file to the same name as used in the Kdenlive project and in the correct location, so that when Kdenlive is reopened, the file changes are noted and is confirmed to go ahead and update. this would then update the audio file accordingly, this may be happening but the timeline is clipping the length of file I presume. Even if I select the file from project bin and add to an available audio track, the file remains in a clipped state. I have not tried to delete the audio from timeline and project bin and then add again, would hate to think what might happen to the timeline but I will try on my backup copies and advise.
Comment 5 Colin Canham 2023-05-16 06:46:39 UTC
Can confirm if the Audio file is removed from the timeline, the deleted from the Project bin, project saved, then the the audio file is added to the project bin again, that the audio now when added to timeline plays the full length without being clipped. This is slightly different to how I could modify audio outside of Kdenlive then reopen project and accept updated files.. that notification does not seem to happen and files are just clipped..
Comment 6 emohr 2023-05-16 16:35:29 UTC
If I understand you correct: You exchange the audio clip on the hard disc with another audio clip but keep the name. If so, right click in the project bin that audio clip you want to update and choose “Reload Clip”. This should update the audio clip in the timeline as well.
