Description Ivars Bezdechi 2023-05-11 23:47:48 UTC
SUMMARY
***
Double Subtitles appear and even some phantom titles appear even though not
seen on the editor view after three or more renderings of a project.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Prepare and import subtitles file
2. Render project normally
3. More than three renders of the project file results in the double phantom subtitles appearing. Appears in a different font.

OBSERVED RESULT
Double subtitles.. 2 different fonts and positions overlapping each other.
Subtitles look fine in viewer window but not final result render
Tried to troubleshoot problem by clearing project caches. Did not solve.
One can then "hide" the subtitles timeline from future renders and only have the phantom subtitle appear

EXPECTED RESULT
Subtitles should appear as previewed in the edit edit window

Export your subtitle and save it. Install Kdenlive version 23.04.1. Import the same subtitle and if Kdenlive doesn’t recognize the codec you can choose what best fit. See here: https://docs.kdenlive.org/en/effects_and_compositions/subtitle.html#import-and-export-subtitle.

If the problem is reproducible with the latest 23.04.1 version, please attach here a simple project file that has this bug

It seems it works. We close this bug. If it still appears in the latest version, please feel free to re-open it and update the affected version number.
