example image to test rotation

SUMMARY
If I rotate an image in thumbnail view, then the result is not what I expect. Or there is no rotation at all.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select an image in thumbnail view
2. Right click / rotate / right
3. The image rotates 180 degrees (!?)
4. Rotating again is not possible

see example image in attachment

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
macOS: 13.3.1

No problem rotating the image here. What are your exact rotation settings in the digiKam metadata settings? Do you use sidecars?

Can you provide a trace from a Terminal while trying to rotate a file. See details from this page :

I have tested images from 3 different cameras. It's always the same problem. First the image rotates 180 degrees and then it doesn't rotate at all. When I am back home I will post my settings...

And please, give us more detail about XMP sidecar usage on your computer.

Thanks in advance

@lebostein@gmx.de,

digikam 8.2.0 pre-release have been rebuilt using last Qt 5.15.11 + KDE 5.110 frameworks. Installer is available at usual place :

https://files.kde.org/digikam/

Can reproduce the problem with this version?

Thanks in advance
