Created attachment 158808 [details] screenshot As a translator I am a bit embarrassed to open this bug report, but I have no idea where the month names are sourced from. See screenshot. In tr_TR locale, May is translated as Mayıs. However, for some reason, on the digital clock tooltip, it is displayed as 5ayıs. What am I looking at here? I highly doubt there would be a typo in a widely used ISO library or something. Maybe due to some space constraint, is it glitching?
I *might* know what's going on here, but I'll need some more information. Can you run Plasma in American English and see if the same issue happens? Or a similar issue? Or does it work fine in English?
Created attachment 158992 [details] screenshot2 I have a weird screenshot here :). All the locale settings are en_US, but somehow the month name on the tooltip is stuck in 5urkish.
Hmm, that's odd. Did you make sure to reboot after changing the settings? If not, please do so. If so, then can you paste the contents of `~/.config/plasma-localerc` and the output of `env | grep LANG`?
env | grep LANG: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 LANGUAGE=en_US plasma-localerc: [Formats] LANG=en_US.UTF-8 [Translations] LANGUAGE=en_US
Well that's weird. I have no idea how you could possibly still be seeing Turkish in that tooltip with all the language and locale variables set up that way.
Created attachment 163826 [details] "Sun3ay" instead of "日曜日" I encountered a similar problem when using ja_JP locale in Plasma 6.0 Dev, but not in 5.27.29. In most of system locales I've tried, such as American English, German and French, the tooltip shows date and time in English without this glitch. As far as I know It can be observed only in ja_JP locale. Is this - https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-workspace/-/merge_requests/3606 - related?
