Make sure the resolution is set to 1440p. 2. Disconnect 1440p monitor. 3. Connect 1080p monitor via HDMI. Make sure the resolution is set to 1080p 4. Disconnect 1080p monitor 5. Connect 1440p monitor OBSERVED RESULT The 1440p monitor uses a resolution of 1080p. You have to manually set the resolution to 1440p. EXPECTED RESULT The 1440p monitor uses a resolution of 1440p automatically SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Fedora Linux 37 KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.105.0 Qt Version: 5.15.9 Kernel Version: 6.2.12-200.fc37.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 12 × Intel® Core™ i7-8750H CPU @ 2.20GHz Memory: 15,4 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics 630 Manufacturer: HP Product Name: HP ZBook Studio G5 ADDITIONAL NOTES I'm not using the laptop's internal display when connecting to an external display, so that one is turned off.
Are you using the "remember settings per display arrangement" setting on the Display Configuration page in System Settings? Can you paste the output of `kscreen-doctor -o` twice: once after you set the correct resolutions, and again after you reboot and they've gotten scrambled up?
> Are you using the "remember settings per display arrangement" setting on the Display Configuration page in System Settings? I'm using "For any display arrangement" in the settings. But it doesn't sound like that should make all HDMI display settings the same. Is this intended behavior?

Correct, it shouldn't. When this is happening, can you paste the output of running `kscreen-doctor -o` in a terminal window?
I'm happy to report that I cannot reproduce this issue with a 1080p and 1440p external monitor I have here. So I'll close this issue. If I see it happening again, I'll report back
I happened again. I didn't change any configuration, but now my 1440p monitor is outputting at 1080. Below is the kscreen-doctor -o output of the monitor in the wrong resolution. It occurred again. It seems that it happens when I connect to a 1080p display that my laptop has not seen before. But that's just a guess.
Thanks for the info. Is it happening on Wayland too? Or only on X11?
I've experienced this both on wayland and X11
