SUMMARY After waking the screen from a power-save screen-off event, the screen wakes to a white screen. Sometimes, very rarely, the system wakes to a white screen alternating with the original screen content. It alternates white/content with every keystroke and/or mouse movement. "ALT-F2 & kwin --restart" returns to a non-flickering, "usable" state, with all previous windows and content lost. If Akonadi (bug #468568) doesn't crash. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Configure screen sleep in the Energy Saving settings (or Activity Power Settings) 2. Sleep 3. Wake OBSERVED RESULT White screen, loss of previous state. EXPECTED RESULT Correct waking of the system, with the previous state and work restored. Are you using an AMD GPU by any chance?
(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > Are you using an AMD GPU by any chance? By chance, yes! I'm using the integrated GPU of my Ryzen 5 7600. Although I was planning to, I completely forgot to add any hardware information to my bug report, I apologize!
Aha, in that case this is https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues/2354.
Thank you for the link to the upstream issue. I will try the proposed > amdgpu.sg_display = 0 option with kernel 6.2 when I have the time.
