SUMMARY Bright part / background element behind panel (especially top panel) de-floats before the panel itself. This produces a jarring effect. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Activate floating panel on top panel 2. open a window on one virtual desktop 3. switch between virtual desktops OBSERVED RESULT A bright "halo" around the outer parts of the top panel becomes visible, de-floating slightly ahead of the normally visible part of the panel. EXPECTED RESULT Visible parts and non-visible parts of the panel float and de-float in lock-step, providing a uniform and consistent appearance. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Fedora Linux 38 KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.104.0 Qt Version: 5.15.9 Kernel Version: 6.2.11-300.fc38.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Couldn't figure out screencasting on wayland w/o OBS, I don't have the disk space for OBS. Hopefully this bug manifests itself for others than me as well.
Can confirm.
Can't reproduce anymore in current git master, which will become Plasma 6.2 soon. Assuming it was fixed by the great floating panel refactor of 2024. :)
