Description aeneid 2023-04-18 17:49:46 UTC
SUMMARY
When you import a VPN connection config file you get a prompt to import the certificate files like this:

If you select "Do not ask again" this is option is saved with no option to revert it.

EXPECTED RESULT
There should be a way to revert this setting.
For example, in the modal window that is shown when you click on the settings button in the bottom left corner.

Since 5.27 this prompt doesn't exist any more, certificates are always copied to ~/.cert

I see, that makes sense since i don't remember selecting that option.
I guess i have a different problem then?

When I import a vpn connection the certificates are not copied, in fact the folder ~/.cert does not exits.
Instead the original - source path is used.

My main problem is that the vpn connection is then removed on reboot, so i have to re-add it every time.
I thought that the missing certificates might be the source of the issue.

When i imported the same vpn connection on my secondary pc, sometime in the past, the certificates were copied to ~/.local/share/networkmanagement/certificates/ and the vpn connection is still saved and still works.

Tested the workaround from the link and it works.

So the problem is that after importing a vpn connection you have click "Apply" to save the changes.
Except the button is not activated, so you need to modify something to enable the button.

Should i open a different bug for this issue?
