Screenshot showing bad formatted notification

SUMMARY
The notifications of akregator in XFCE show some HTML tags that make it difficult to understand the notification. The attachment akregator_notify.png shows an example.

In principle those tags are not supported as part of the notification markup language (https://specifications.freedesktop.org/notification-spec/latest/ar01s04.html), which is why the XFCE notification daemon displays them verbatim.

I attach a patch that fixes the issue by using only the tags allowed by the notification specification markup language.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use Akregator under XFCE.
2. Enable notifications to a feed.
3. Observe desktop notification.
