Works for me. Open Discover, click VLC on the homepage. Make sure clipboard is empty. In the top right-hand corner of the screen, click 'share', then click 'use' next to clipboard. Clipboard icon appears in the system tray with this in it > appstream:org.videolan.VLC Scroll down to 'External links'.
