With that commit applied, Ctrl+PgUp/PgDn changes the visually selected room in the sidebar, but the main view does not update. This is accompanied by an error printed to the console:

qrc:/RoomList/Page.qml:70: TypeError: Cannot call method 'trigger' of null

Clicking on sidebar list items still works to switch rooms.

Reverting that commit fixes the issue.
