3 krulers with maximum, middle, and minimum opacity settings

SUMMARY

Changing the position of the opacity slider on kruler changes the brightness of kruler, but it is not transparent. In the case of opacity set at it's minimum I just see a black rectangle where kruler is, I don't see what is beneath the ruler.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start kruler
2. Right mouse-click on the ruler to see the menu.
3. Choose "Opacity" from the menu
4. Adjust the slider to the far left.
5. Observe kruler change into a black rectangle with full opacity when it should have full transparency.

OBSERVED RESULT

Opacity does not change, but kruler turns black.

EXPECTED RESULT

kruler become progressively more transparent as the opacity slider is move to the left.

I initially reported this problem against Kubuntu 22.04 LTS, but I've since upgraded to Kubuntu 22.10 and then from Plasma 5.25 to 5.27, but the problem persists.
