SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. File >> Backup 2. Select directory and check mount dir checkbox. 3. Click OK and mounting just hangs so backup never starts. OBSERVED RESULT Mounting hangs and backup never happens EXPECTED RESULT SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 11 macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I manually backed up my *.kmy file but noit sure that's sufficient.
First, 5.0.6 is really old. Please try a more recent version - 5.1.3 is current. For your problem, what happens if you do not tick the box to mount the backup directory? Where are you trying to back up the file? To a local directory or a network share? For your last question, yes, simply making a copy of the .kmy file is all a backup does, so that is sufficient - but you should use some naming convention so each backup does not simply overwrite the previous one. Let us know if any of this helps.
Created attachment 157886 [details] attachment-2630265-0.html That's cool.thanks for the feedback, if backing up manually works, I can deal with that. I'll check for an update and see if it Corrects the problem but to answer your question, I'm just saving to a local drive - either the same filesystem or another physical drive in the same chassis. Appreciate the rapid response . Guy, Please do let us know if the current version (5.1.3) works ok or if we still have some digging to do on Windows. Particularly - without ticking the "mount" checkbox. Thanks.

Thanks for letting us know. Feel free to reopen if the problem happens again. Note: when replying to a bug by email, delete everything you are replying to, as your entire message becomes the next comment, and it is not necessary to include the previous comment, which can be seen right above. Thanks.
