SUMMARY If I close Kate normally, a lot (doesn't always happen but often) the particular katesession is chopped down to size and doesn't load anything. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Load a session with some open repos and files etc. 2. Close Kate 3. Reopen Kate and the sessions doesn't work stays on the welcome page OBSERVED RESULT I have a copy of the main session file I use handily in my home dir as I have to often cp over the one in Kates config dir. Here is a list of the one it should be and what happenes after a Kate close. Often times I always have Kate running, close it then reboot for updates. Not instantly so unless something is typing it up I don't know. -rw------- 1 felim felim 4407 Mar 13 16:08 .local/share/kate/sessions/PTW.katesession -rw------- 1 felim felim 293147 Mar 7 17:06 PTW.katesession EXPECTED RESULT Not to trash it's config SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Neon 22.04 Operating System: KDE neon 5.27 KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.104.0 Qt Version: 5.15.8 Kernel Version: 5.19.0-38-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 12 × AMD Ryzen 5 2600X Six-Core Processor Memory: 62.7 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 580 Series
Created attachment 157663 [details] The broken katesession after it's chopped it down.
There is also a bug with the keybinds resetting sometimes after kate has been closed and then opened back up. I don't know if that's related.
Still happening as of 4:23.04.1-0xneon+22.04+jammy+release+build20 I've tried recreating with smaller session profiles but it doesn't, so it appears to be size related. I have to keep a copy in my homedir to overwrite the broken one on each restart.
