SUMMARY Every time after rebooting Discover wants me to install the same packages again STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Reboot and login to Neon. 2. See the Discover icon with the blue or red dot in the task bar. Click on it. 3. Click update and wait. 4. When all updates are installed progress with step 1. OBSERVED RESULT Updated packages are not updated or not marked/written in the updates database. EXPECTED RESULT SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE neon 5.27 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.104.0 Qt Version: 5.15.8 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

When running "sudo pkcon update" from the console I get this result (but Discover still tells me that there are updates available and installs them): Getting updates [=========================] Finished [=========================] No packages require updating to newer versions.
Can you please run "plasma-discover" on the terminal and tell us which output you get? Can you try it with different backends? I see you also have flatpak apps so try separately: * plasma-discover --backends packagekit * plasma-discover --backends flatpak Maybe it will help us isolate the problem. This is not something I'd heard before.
Indeed, there is a difference. Please see the pictures that show: 1. Discover system program (which came with the distribution) after restart (shows the problem) 2. Discover started with "plasma-discover --backends packagekit" (seems to work correctly) 3. Is this reproducible?
It was, but not anymore. I changed OS to Kubuntu.
