Description Ionut Boicu 2023-03-26 13:03:14 UTC
SUMMARY
***
When having two browsers open (in my case Firefox and Chromium) if I pause a media player (in this case Youtube) in one browser, play something in the other, exit the media player in the second browser and attempt to unpause the youtube tab in the first browser using the play media key on my keyboard, it does not work. This issue does not happen when using two windows of the same browser.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Firefox
2. Go to Youtube and play a video
3. Pause it
4. Open Chromium or any other browser
5. Go to Youtube and play a video
6. Pause the video and go to the youtube home page
7. Attempt to play the video tab from Firefox using shortcuts

OBSERVED RESULT
The Firefox Youtube tab will not start playing unless you manually press on the video. Pressing the media key does nothing.

EXPECTED RESULT
The Firefox tab should have started playing as no media player is active in the Chromium instance.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Hmm, with those exact steps, it works for me in Plasma 5.27. Can you upgrade to 5.27 and see if it then works for you too? Thanks!
