SUMMARY My webcam (Quanta Computer, Inc. HP Wide Vision HD Camera) only supports its 720p resolution if the MJPEG codec is used, otherwise the raw format is used it is limited to 640x480. So, Kamoso ends up using 640x480 (or 640x360 if gst-plugin-libcamera is installed). For reference Cheese (the GNOME webcam app) does use 1280x720 resolution. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have a webcam that only supports MJPEG for its native resolution 2. Open Kamoso 3. Take a photo OBSERVED RESULT The photo Kamoso captured is at a lower resolution than native, with no option to change it. EXPECTED RESULT Kamoso should either default to the highest resolution possible or offer options to select the native resolution.
