Description Germano Massullo 2023-03-22 13:15:05 UTC
During Xorg Plasma sessions it happens that I have to run
$ kwin --replace &
in order to fix some graphical glitches I experience on both Intel and AMDGPU drivers, in particular using Firefox.

If I run the same command in a Wayland Plasma session, the result is that the entire Plasma session will be lost, and all opened applications will be lost too, with consequential loss of data

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 37 KDE
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 22.12.3
Qt Version: 5.15.8

This is expected, most applications atm can't handle the wayland compositor going down. Don't run this command.
