If the clip has audio does the video track you want to drag it to have a corresponding audio track (for example V1/A1, V2/A2)? Does it also not work for color clips or titles? It looks like you are using one of the nightly builds. There may still be some bugs. But please provide screenshots or a recording of what you are trying to do as well as more information about the kind of clip you are using.

I just tried it in the latest nightly build (#530, Rev d79216260) and it works (I am on Pop!_OS 22.04 which is based on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS). I suggest you either go with the latest official install or appimage (22.12.3) unless you need nested timelines which are only available in the nightly builds before they get officially released with the upcoming version 23.04.
