SUMMARY The problem is that many (most) windows start showing blank content. It happens to main application windows, dialogs, menu items, plasma notications and seemingly every type of window. It gets worse over time. If I reboot, the problem will be very minimal for a few hours then it gets worse and worse to the point where I cannot use the computer and have to reboot. Sometimes if I resize it, the contents will show after a few tries, or if I reboot/restart plasmashell. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open any window 2. If black, resize window 3. Resize usually works, if not restart plasmashell and works as normal OBSERVED RESULT Black windows/unable to see window contents EXPECTED RESULT Working windows/able to see window contents SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.27.3 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.3 KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION $ pacman -Qs nvidia local/egl-wayland 2:1.1.11-3 EGLStream-based Wayland external platform local/libvdpau 1.5-1 Nvidia VDPAU library local/libxnvctrl 525.89.02-1 NVIDIA NV-CONTROL X extension local/nvidia 525.89.02-11 NVIDIA drivers for linux local/nvidia-lts 1:525.89.02-10 NVIDIA drivers for linux-lts local/nvidia-settings 525.89.02-1 Tool for configuring the NVIDIA graphics driver local/nvidia-utils 525.89.02-2 NVIDIA drivers utilities local/opencl-nvidia 525.89.02-2 OpenCL implemention for NVIDIA

I am also using Arch Linux with nvidia. I started experiencing an issue like this after upgrading to either Plasma 5.26 or 5.27. The workaround OP mentioned of restarting plasmashell temporarily fixes it for me only sometimes. At this moment it has not helped, so I will try rebooting.
That fact that restarting Plasma fixes it seems very weird to me as the symptoms all point to it being a KWin issue.
>That fact that restarting Plasma fixes it seems very weird to me as the symptoms all point to it being a KWin issue. The clock example where we have some of the buffer points to it not being a kwin issue. But given things work locally and you have issues with all clients I would suggest we test with a newer nvidia driver before doing anything else.
